This is for English speaking twitterers, I did not write this post merely translated it. I was so chocked I had to spread this within the community.

I was looking for sourdough bakeries in Stockholm (Bakery & Spices is closed for the summer) in Google and followed a link to the newspaper Stockholm City. It looks like every page is replaced by a “Happy Summer” sign. What did they think here? Does the search engines see the same thing? If they don’t, does it not count as cloaking?

I understand if you want to close down the forums and the comment functions when no one has the time to review the new comments. But is it really necessary to close down over 40.000 pages with over 95.000 incoming links?

With a bit of bad luck they will get unindexed during their holiday.

David This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long while! If you surf as a googlebot or other spiders you get the same so there is absolutely no logic behind this. Nice way to sink a site atleast.
